Product reviews: TRIA Laser hair removal system

The Tria home laser hair removal system is a product that is getting a huge boost in buzz thanks to its FDA approval as a legitimate permanent hair removal solution. Hype aside, the question is not only if it will work, but will it work for you, is it safe, and does it make sense for you to buy? Laser hair removal is a proved method for permanent results, but those results are not equal for all, and in some cases the Tria nor any laser hair removal system will work.

The basic premise of laser hair removal is that the laser reacts with the melanin in skin to work its way to the root of hair follicles which it then burns out so the hair will not grow back. The theory is simple and it works well for most people. Before we go any further let’s discuss who it will work the best for and who it is not suited for. People that have very fair skin and dark hair are the best candidates to achieve successful results. People with light hair -natural blonds specifically, and people with dark skin are the worst candidates. The laser simply has too much trouble identifying the are to be affected or in the cases of those with dark skin the laser may cause burns to the skin rather than the follicle root.

The Tria laser hair remover has one thing going for it aside from FDA approval which is of extreme importance and that is safety. Before the unit will emit a beam you have to remove the base of the unit and hold it against your skin until you get the green light. It takes about a second. You then hold it up to the main body of the unit that contains the laser so the green light triggers the red light on the unit to go green. You put the charger back in its place and you are ready to go.

The Tria has three settings – low, medium, and high. Low is the least effective but also the least painful. Medium works pretty well for most people, but of course the high setting is really the best. While I anticipated pain akin to what I’ve experienced from commercial laser hair removal units, the pain associated to the Tria on the high setting wasn’t too bad, no worse than a rubber band being snapped against your skin. Some may tolerate pain a little worse than others, but the Tria isn’t so much pain as mild discomfort you adjust to rather quickly.

The Tria is easy to work with and it only took about 40 minutes to completely finish one leg – I have a particularly long leg so for others it may go quicker. There were no hitches in the the Tria’s use nor were there any moments it seemed as if

Skin care with natural products

What is the difference between natural skin care beauty products and synthetic ones? A lot! Natural skin care products usually will not cause itching, redness or rash on the outer layer of the skin like a synthetic one sometimes can do. If you’re like me, and periodically get eczema, then you know what I’m talking about.

It is very important that our skin has a chance to breathe and the ability to eliminate toxins. Caking our pores up with unnatural skin care products is very detrimental, not only to the skin but to the inside of our body as well. Anything you apply to your skin penetrates into the pores and into the bloodstream. Ask yourself, “Would I eat this?” If you answered no, then it probably is not a good idea to put it on your skin either.

Many unnatural beauty products can upset the skins natural balance causing many different types of skin problems. This is why two years ago I had to switch from using any products that were not natural. Here are some great natural skin care products that will produce results fairly quickly.

Pure Virgin Coconut Oil

I like applying this oil on my skin because it is natural and it refines my wrinkles a lot! Coconut oil is easily absorbed into the skin, regenerating new skin cell growth, which gives skin its beautiful complexion. It should be used on a consistent basis for best results. Coconut oil is a natural nourishing healer used by women all over the world, especially in tropical climates where coconuts grow abundantly.

Virgin coconut oil is a powerful antioxidant that fights free radicals because it is unrefined and has not been denatured by the refining process. For this reason it is an excellent oil for ingesting. Whether applying coconut oil directly to the skin or ingesting it internally, or both, it is one of the best healing and repairing oils there is. Use it in your cooking, on your skin, and even in your hair!

Eat Your Sprouts

How can eating sprouts be good for your skin? Sprouts have chlorophyll, a life-giving nutrient that is available in abundance in live green foods. Alfalfa sprouts are loaded with just about every available vitamin and mineral known to man, except for protein. Mung beans sprouts have lots of protein! Incorporating both of these easy to grow sprouts would be very beneficial to body and skin health.

Eating foods that are still living, such as sprouts our body receives the best possible nutrition. Living foods feed, nourish and heal connective tissues of the skin rejuvenating cells under the skin to give a tighter, firmer, younger looking skin tone.

Green Tea, Horsetail, and Seaweed

Some of my favorite skin care products would be considered to be food. I drink a lot of green tea in the evening while watching TV. Green tea is known as one of the best anti-aging skin care products out there. This type of tea when applied to the skin reduces the signs of cellulite and wrinkles. The best way to apply it to the skin is through an herbal body wrap.

Green tea, along with horse chestnut, horsetail, and seaweed are some of the herbal ingredients in the body slimming wrap that you can apply on your skin anywhere you want to tighten, tone, reduce cellulite, and lose inches from fat under the skin. Most people that have used the body wrap are amazed by the results!

Tips For Wearing The Body Wrap

Take a hot shower first to open up pores

Drink lots of water before and after wearing the body wrap to help expel toxins

Rub in the remaining herbal lotion into your pores after taking off the body wrap

Eat a good daily diet along with using natural skin care products.

How to frost your own hair

Summers here, ah well it is for us Aussies, and we all love to go lighter in summer, though the expense involved when going to a salon numerous times can quickly add up.

Not to worry, I’ll explain how you can affordable and most importantly, do it safely at home yourself, with a friend

Frosting, or Tips as they are commonly called, can be done quite easily by using a tip cap, and pulling needle (also known as crochet hook). If you visit your local discount store, tipping sets are sold. Though they are not as good as a salon grade cap, they come with all that you need, apart from the bleach powder and peroxide which you need to purchase from a salon supplier.

BEFORE YOU BUY YOUR SALON SUPPLIES, please note, that its best to only ever use 20VOL peroxide, and blue bleaching powder is best. Mix it in mixing or plastic bowl, commonly 1 scoop of powder to 40mls of peroxide (double check the bleach powders ratios).

Only mix 1 scoop at a time, and when you run out add more. Bleach stops working after about 50 minutes, you want all your hair to lighten at the same time.

Place the tip cap over your head, trying to stay as close to your scalp as possible. You need a friend for the next part.

Using the pulling needle, gently poke through the holes, one at a time, try not to “jab” into you or your friends head, its best to slide on an angle if you can manage that and hook some hair, pull it back through the hole. You may need to do the same hole again, depending how thick you want your little ” tips”. Continue through until you do either every hole, or every second hole.

Once completed, place cling wrap over it, leaving it to process for around 30-50 mins. You need to carefully watch the colour every few mins, until a pale yellow is acheived.

You must then, remove the cling wrap, rinse the hair (with the cap still on) shampoo, tone (if you are experienced with toner), shampoo again, then condition. With the conditioner still in the hair, gently remove the cap, then do the final rinse out.

If you don’t know much about toner, don’t stress, you can purchase toning shampoo’s and conditioners, if you don’t like the brassy look that your hair may have.

Best of luck, and remember, its always best to go to a salon, this article is in no way advising at home applications, just advice for those who are up for the risky challenge.

TRIA hair removal system tips and tricks

I purchased a TRIA Hair Removal System a few months ago and just finished my third and fourth course of treatments. I am excited to see that my body hair is becoming lighter and finer, especially on my bikini line and underarms. I am looking forward to eventual freedom from the hassle and expense of shaving and waxing.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the TRIA system, please see my other articles or visit

www.TRIAbeauty.com for more information. In this article, rather than going into the details of how TRIA works, I would like to share some tips and tricks for current or prospective TRIA users that I have discovered from my own use.

#1. Always charge the TRIA laser after every use.

One of the only drawbacks of the TRIA system is that the laser doesn’t hold its charge for that long. When working on a large area, such as your legs, you may have to stop in the middle to charge the laser. However, because treating large areas can become tedious, this is often a welcome break. To help ensure that your laser doesn’t power off while treating smaller areas, make sure to charge it after each use so that it is ready to go the next time around.

#2. Prepare the area well.

Part of the TRIA laser hair removal process includes shaving the area before treatment. I have found that the more carefully I shave, the less discomfort I experience during treatment. Take the time to get a close and complete shave and dry the area well before applying the laser and you should experience minimal discomfort.

#3. Experiment with the different energy levels.

If you are experiencing any discomfort, don’t be afraid to select a lower energy level. While I was surprised to find that the pain involved was much less significant than I expected, I have found that certain areas (such as the bikini line) are more sensitive than others. I may be able to use the highest energy level on my legs or arms, but will go back to level one or two when treating my bikini line or underarms. The benefit of using the highest level is that it is most effective, but I would rather have to perform more treatments at a lower energy level than experience increased discomfort. Remember that some users experience no negative sensation at all and that any discomfort will decrease in future treatments along with the amount of hair.

#4. Track your treatments.

TRIA couldn’t make this step easier for you. Included with your laser will be a handy, purse-sized calendar with stickers so that you can keep track of your

Health risks that you might not know about

Risk is everywhere around us. Our health faces risks all the time too. At home or in any interior places, you face the risk of falling down, tripping down, chemicals injury to your body, accidental consumption of wrong food, choking, fire injury and so on. Outside the home or in outdoor, you faces the risk of knocking down by vehicles, accidental assault, natural disaster such as strike by lightning, earthquake, typhoon and so on. We cannot escape risks totally, but we can reduce risks on our part, as by taking precaution in whatever things that we do.

Those risk that we face are all external. They are all accidental health risks that we can possibly face in our lives, whether you are a child, teenage, adults or old people. Besides accidental health risks, other health risks that we face could be the short-term health risks and the long-term health risks.

Our body are in constant touch with foreign objects in our surroundings. All these foreign objects are all health risks to us. From food preparation to cooking and eating of food, there are already health risks involved in every steps that we do. For example, food that are not washed properly such as vegetables might contain parasites’ eggs from soil particles on the vegetables. These eggs might hatch into parasites in our stomach(favourable condition for them). Meat that we eat if they are not cooked properly will still have parasites exist in them. So when these meat are eaten, our health is at risks – risks of parasite infestation in our body. Parasites can compete with our body for nutrition and it can also cause sickness to us and sometimes can even be fatal.

Besides parasites, other potential health risks from food we eat are germs. When seafood and poultry products are not washed properly or when they are not fresh, they have germs – the bad bacteria in them, that can cause people to suffer from symptoms of food poisoning after consumption of them. Sometimes, besides improper food handling, ignorance can also cause us to have risks of our health, as in food poisoning when eaten food that is kept in the fridge for too long, or even food consume after left over in the room for a long period of time. These are short-term health risks. They cause immediate results to our body.

Other examples of short-term health risks that we face are allergies. Eating food that our body ‘cannot accept’ such as seafood or eggs for some people can have immediate rashes, and ‘watery and red eyes’ and other symptoms for some
