How to paint your nails effectively

Let’s face it; your nails are nothing but dead material. However, a coat of nail polish just makes them look so much more alive. Do not fret. Applying nail polish can be a very simple and rewarding process. Following is a guide for painting your nails perfectly.

Prep your Nails

Nail polish just never looks its best on unhealthy nails. For this reason, you must care for your nails before ever applying nail polish. First, trim and file your nails to get rid of any damage or jagged edges. Next, buff out any ridges you might have in your nails. This step is mandatory because nail polish will sink right into the ridges. Lastly, make sure your nails are clean as possible. Cleanse your nails and hands with an antibacterial soap. Also, scrub beneath the nails with a nail brush.

Base Coat

After prepping your nails for polish, it is time to apply a base coat. The base coat is pertinent because it provides a smooth surface for the nail polish to adhere. It also fills in any additional ridges on the nails. Another key reason to use a base coat is to prevent your nails from yellowing. A base coat provides a protective layer between your nail and the nail color. It prevents discoloration on the nails.

Selecting a Nail Color

As you choose a nail color, think about which colors make up your wardrobe. Try to choose a neutral shade that blends well with everything. After you have picked a color, shake the bottle gently to ensure that the color is well-blended. Try to brush the color onto each nail with three upward strokes. After polishing each nail, allow them a few minutes to dry. It is imperative that you allow nails to dry adequately between layers, otherwise, you will end up with a sticky mess that will never fully dry. After the nail color has dried, look at each nail to gauge whether or not you need a second coat. If you choose to apply a second coat, apply the color just as carefully as you applied the first.

Top Coat

After you nail color has sufficiently dried, the time has arrived for a top coat. Top coats work wonders. They grant a shine boost to your nails while preventing chipping. Simply apply a thin layer over your nail color. Give everything a minimum of 30 minutes to dry before resuming normal activities.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Many people might like the idea of getting laser hair removal but be scared of the pain that they think comes with it. They might think that it hurts a lot because of the fact that a laser is used. Or they might think that it is the same type of laser that is used for removing tattoos, which can be very painful. The fact is that it really isn’t all that painful for most areas. As well as it being the best method of permanent hair removal as well.

A lot of people say that the pain is less than having hair waxed, which in itself isn’t all that painful after the initial shock. Similarly the pain from laser removal fades quickly after the hair is removed. It doesn’t even have the lingering sting that waxing can leave you for a few minutes afterward. The most painful area is generally the face, because there are more nerve endings under the surface of the skin there than in most other places. A lot of hair removal places will usually administer a topical anesthetic if you think you might need one, or if the area if particularly sensitive.

The most important thing to do first is to find a reputable clinic. Because in a lot of places you don’t need to have any qualifications to perform this kind of procedure, there are a lot of clinics that tend to spring up from time to time that could be unsafe. Many countries also have very little legislation in place for this kid of thing compared to for example a doctor. So going to a clinic that is affiliated with a chain of clinics, or that someone else has recommended to you is a good ides.

Some places will instead of using an anesthetic use an ice pack to numb the area before they start. This is usually just as effective as an anesthetic, although sometimes a little more uncomfortable. In the majority of cases little other pain relief is needed. In fact a lot of people are surprised by how little it actually does hurt after they have had it done.

The time it will take for the laser removal to be done depends obviously on how large the area is that is being done. It can also vary depending on how thick the hair is that is being removed. Typically however the actual laser isn’t used for much longer then it would take to wax an approximate area the same size. An of course laser removal is a lot more effective than waxing.

After the laser has been used the skin beneath will be sensitive for a few days and shouldn’t be exposed to direct sunlight. It will usually be around a week before the skin is feeling completely normal again, and you can resume normal activities. There are also usually products that are either included in the service, or can be bought at the clinic that will help the skin to return to normal again.

The last thing to remember is that if you have had an area adjacent to an area with hair. For example if you have had a bikini line done but not the upper legs, then you should be wary of friction and rubbing between the two areas. This usually doesn’t happen of course, but after the laser removal the skin is very sensitive for a few days.

How to make homemade hair remover

Ever tried to make your own hair remover? Well I’m not talking about any chemical formula but you can use some natural organic stuff from your kitchen to make your own hair remover. In this article I teach you my favorite recipe for preparing the hair removing sugar wax that I occasionally use to remove hair from my legs, arms and sometimes bikini.

This homemade wax is a great alternative to the expensive readymade wax that you use. Also it is less painful in use than wax. Here I show you how you can get it made with sugar and lemon juice.

Take a nonstick saucepan and put 1 cup sugar in it. Now take 2 large lemons and squeeze out their juice in the sugar through a strainer to avoid letting the seeds in the sugar. At the end add 1/4th cup of water in it and stir to combine thoroughly.

Now heat the saucepan on low flame till the sugar melts completely and starts caramelizing (before the crystallization stage). Make sure that the mixture doesn’t boil over. As the mixture starts forming the solid stage remove it from fire and let it cool for 10 minutes. Normally the caramalization and hardening process takes 30 to 45 minutes on a very low flame. Alternately you can heat the mixture in the microwave but with that you may lose the control over its consistency.

Keep a glass jar ready to save the wax as it cools down a bit. It will harden in low temperatures especially if the room temperature is dripping below the 30 degrees Celsius, so make sure to pour it in the jar before it hardens. Now pour it in jar and put the lid on it.

Each time you have to use it heat the jar in microwave for a few seconds or alternately soak the jar in hot water for a few minutes. Now as it melts apply it on the hair in the direction of hair growth in thin layer. Make sure that it is not hot enough to burn out your skin. The best place to check it is on your palm. If it’s unbearably hot let it cool down a bit.

Now take a 1×1” piece of old jeans or thick cloth that is not loosely woven and place it over the wax layered area. Stick it firmly to it by pressing down with your fingers and make sure that it’s stuck properly. Now with the help of fingers rip the cloth piece towards you at once to make the process less painful. Repeat the process for whole area from where you have to remove the hair. Pluck any stray hair with a tweezer or thread it out.

Reheat each time it hardens. Note that each time you reheat it will thicken a bit so better be quick and don’t be a loser. To avoid this thickened wax, you can: either cook it to a thin pasty consistency for the first time cooking or add a spoonful or two of water to the wax when heating.

Now I talk of some substitutes: You can replace the sugar altogether for the equal amount of molasses or honey but the cooking time will reduce considerably. So make sure that you keep a close watch on it. A useful tip is to use a cooking thermometer and let the mixture heat no more than 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

So get ready to be hairless in the privacy of your home. A plus point is that the hair will grow back after quite a delay (for me it is usually 20-day period of hairless me). The recipe is tried-and-tested by me and is guaranteed to remove hair all naturally and effectively.
