How laser hair removal works
Laser hair removal can be a good way to permanently rid yourself of unwanted hair. In general, during the procedure a laser is used on unwanted body or facial hair. This laser heats the hair follicle at the base, destroying the hair and preventing regrowth.
People who are interested in laser hair removal should first meet with a dermatologist. This doctor will be able to advise the patient on how well laser hair removal could work, based on analyzing his or hair hair and
skin type. During this initial consultation the dermatologist should also discuss the risks and benefits of the procedure. Typically, skin can either turn darker or lighter after the procedure, but the amount of this change is different for everyone. If the patient is comfortable with these risks and the doctor deems that the patient is a good candidate for the procedure, then the patient will typically schedule a follow-up appointment to begin laser hair removal.
At the next appointment, the patient will remove any clothing and jewelry from the site where he or she wants hair removed. Then, a technician will make sure that there are no lotions, cosmetics or creams on the area to be treated. These chemicals can sometimes hinder the hair removal process and/or cause an adverse reaction.
Next, the technician will apply a gel to the area to be treated. This gel will act as a conductor for the laser while also keeping the skin cool. Then the technician will use a small laser tool on the area to remove the hair.
The light from this small laser enters each shaft of hair in the designated area, destroying the hair at its root. This also effectively stops hair growth in the given area since the hair follicle is damaged or destroyed by the procedure. The lasers are set to sense and target dark pigmentation, thereby making laser hair removal most effective on people with darker hair and light skin. In the past, this meant that laser hair removal treatments were often not recommended for people with darker skin. Today, however, new laser technology has made laser hair removal more effective for everyone.
Typically, dermatologists will advise multiple sessions of laser hair removal treatments to ensure long lasting results. Because all of the hair in a given area will not grow at the same rate and will therefore not be visible all at the same time, repeated sessions over the course of several months to a year are recommended to keep an area free of hair. Usually, a patient can expect to need anywhere from three to seven sessions in order to achieve total hair removal.

How to make homemade hair remover
Ever tried to make your own hair remover? Well I’m not talking about any chemical formula but you can use some natural organic stuff from your kitchen to make your own hair remover. In this article I teach you my favorite recipe for preparing the hair removing sugar wax that I occasionally use to remove hair from my legs, arms and sometimes bikini.
This homemade wax is a great alternative to the expensive readymade wax that you use. Also it is less painful in use than wax. Here I show you how you can get it made with sugar and lemon juice.
Take a nonstick saucepan and put 1 cup sugar in it. Now take 2 large lemons and squeeze out their juice in the sugar through a strainer to avoid letting the seeds in the sugar. At the end add 1/4th cup of water in it and stir to combine thoroughly.
Now heat the saucepan on low flame till the sugar melts completely and starts caramelizing (before the crystallization stage). Make sure that the mixture doesn’t boil over. As the mixture starts forming the solid stage remove it from fire and let it cool for 10 minutes. Normally the caramalization and hardening process takes 30 to 45 minutes on a very low flame. Alternately you can heat the mixture in the microwave but with that you may lose the control over its consistency.
Keep a glass jar ready to save the wax as it cools down a bit. It will harden in low temperatures especially if the room temperature is dripping below the 30 degrees Celsius, so make sure to pour it in the jar before it hardens. Now pour it in jar and put the lid on it.
Each time you have to use it heat the jar in microwave for a few seconds or alternately soak the jar in hot water for a few minutes. Now as it melts apply it on the hair in the direction of hair growth in thin layer. Make sure that it is not hot enough to burn out your skin. The best place to check it is on your palm. If it’s unbearably hot let it cool down a bit.
Now take a 1×1” piece of old jeans or thick cloth that is not loosely woven and place it over the wax layered area. Stick it firmly to it by pressing down with your fingers and make sure that it’s stuck properly. Now with the help of fingers rip the cloth piece towards you at once to make the process less painful. Repeat the process for whole area from where you have to remove the hair. Pluck any stray hair with a tweezer or thread it out.
Reheat each time it hardens. Note that each time you reheat it will thicken a bit so better be quick and don’t be a loser. To avoid this thickened wax, you can: either cook it to a thin pasty consistency for the first time cooking or add a spoonful or two of water to the wax when heating.
Now I talk of some substitutes: You can replace the sugar altogether for the equal amount of molasses or honey but the cooking time will reduce considerably. So make sure that you keep a close watch on it. A useful tip is to use a cooking thermometer and let the mixture heat no more than 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
So get ready to be hairless in the privacy of your home. A plus point is that the hair will grow back after quite a delay (for me it is usually 20-day period of hairless me). The recipe is tried-and-tested by me and is guaranteed to remove hair all naturally and effectively.
