Hypo-pigmentation involves altering the ink structure. Unfortunately it can release the ink into the body and cause a bad reaction in some cases.

# Other methods include deliberately scaring the area where the tattoo is, using acid, or attempting to lighten the ink. Neither of these methods tends to be satisfactory.
